I am an Elementary Special Education teacher working towards a Masters in Reading. This blog has been created to highlight some of the books I am reading along the way. Thank you for visiting! I hope you find a book (or two) to enjoy with your children.

Mrs. K, I want to start by saying that the colors and layout that you have chosen makes a very inviting visual to the reader. The book “Extra Yarn” would be an absolute pick for first grade. The illustrations and word choice are great for that reading level. As well as the hidden message, when you give from your heart you will never be without. If I were to use it within a lesson plan I would include a short hands on activity with a yarn creation something small like a keychain to make. I believe it would allow the students to further connect with Annabelle.
